Kalkidan and Wubit Hailemichael are sisters and co-founders of Happy Pads, a female-owned, award-winning menstrual product company based in Houston, Texas. Kalkidan, co-founder and CEO, brings over ten years of experience in engineering and business management, with two patents and one industrial design patent. Wubit, co-founder and COO, has a background in marketing management. Together, we are dedicated to providing 100% biodegradable and chemical-free female hygiene products that promote sustainability and women’s health.

Lily Wang is the co-founder & CEO of Demi, a startup in Chicago, Illinois, that is reimagining composting in cities with the first and only IOT organics collection system that was specifically designed for buildings. Lily’s early interest in the intersection of climate and society led her to pursue a BSFS in Environmental Sciences, Technology & International Affairs at Georgetown. She began her career as a strategy consultant where she worked with multifamily clients including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, before pivoting into early-stage climate investing. She received her MBA from the University of Chicago, where she was an Obama Scholar, Social Impact Leader, C200 Scholar and Herman Fellow. Lily has lived in over fifteen apartments across nine cities and has composted (or at least, tried) in every single one.

Megan Alexander is a passionate entrepreneur, a mother of two, and founder of Carter’s Compost in Traverse City, Michigan. With a degree in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University, she has worked across various industries and roles in both corporate and startup environments. Driven by an interest in everyday sustainability, Megan has dedicated herself to becoming a conscious consumer and to making a positive impact on the planet. Carter’s Compost is a compost collection and delivery service that hauls residential and business kitchen food scraps to local composting sites for processing. Once the scraps have evolved into finished compost, it is returned to local soils in gardens and farms.

Cozy Canine Coffee is a woman- & AAPI-owned coffee company founded by Caroline Manimtim. The company aims to serve the San Diego community by sharing high quality and approachable coffee that supports and spreads awareness of local animal rescue organizations. Inspired by the Caroline’s rescue dog Rhys, Cozy Canine Coffee donates $1 per 12 oz bag of coffee to local animal rescue partners and encourages their followers to participate in events to support the animal rescue community.
